From the CEO’s Diary

There’s a quiet moment that comes to everyone who has given too much of themselves to work. You don’t even notice it at first. You just realize one day that you no longer look up when you talk about what you do. The light that used to spill from your eyes now flickers somewhere out of reach.

I’ve seen it happen to the brilliant ones — the artists, the thinkers, the ones who used to hum with high voltage electricity. It is not attributed to them not caring anymore.  Most often it is largely due to them living inside someone else’s idea of success.

We were taught that good work meant more work. That speed was proof of worth. Ra, ra, ra” they go.  The faster you run, the greater your gain.  That hyper-vigilant, hyper-performative culture led to exhaustion. It became the price of purpose. But purpose, I learned—when caged, begins to starve.

What most of us are longing for isn’t another title, or raise, or even recognition.  It’s belonging — the kind that happens when what you make feels like an extension of who you are. When everything feels potent—life affirming.  When the hours you give start to give something back.

Once, we believed that companies were vessels — places that carried our ambition forward. Now, too often, they feel like rooms with the air sucked out. Metrics replacing meaning. Deadlines replacing dialogue.  You become just a number.

But hear, hear—there’s a quiet rebellion unfolding. People are beginning to remember themselves. They are choosing to work differently — slower, deeper, truer.  These then become immovable, unshakeable non-negotiables. "I stand strongly in my creative integrity," they say.

They’re stepping into places that value the full scope of their imagination, not just the line items on a résumé. They’re building routines that protect their clarity. They’re learning that wealth isn’t what you earn, but what you can walk away from. And that good work begins not with performance, but with presence.

And no, this author believes that this is not a movement built on noise. It’s built on remembering. On the courage to hold your own rhythm when the world keeps demanding speed.
